New Tomahawk Reroute

The new reroute of the Tomahawk Trail was completed on Wednesday, November 30th. This new trail will be on high ground and can be used year round by snowmobiles and ATV's. This will help tremendously in grooming costs and will be a better trail. The 8 mile trail will avoid swamps and rough terrain which have been very difficult to groom in the past.  This trail goes from Nickle Lake (end of Spruce Road) to August Lake and brings you to the Mattila Shelter. Many thanks go out to US Forest Service, MN DNR, Sno-Barons and many volunteers of the Ely Igloo Snowmobile Club.

What is a Radar Run?

Annual Fun Run

Support your trails and have a great chance of winning prizes!

Our club joins with the Babbitt and Tower clubs to put on the Annual Fun Run snowmobile event with Ragnar and friends. This one-day event, typically scheduled for the Saturday before the Super Bowl®, has raised thousands of dollars for our trail system and is usually our #1 fundraiser. The event is open to everyone and benefits snowmobile trails in and around the three communities.

One of the event's attractions is the prize list that includes a top prize of $1,000 and many great door prizes. On the day of the event, participants go to check-in points in Ely, Tower, and Babbitt to pick up bonus tickets and increase their chances of winning prizes.

Registration is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at any of the three Fun Run check-in points. Money raised supports snowmobile trails in Ely, Babbitt and Tower.
